Educational Needs Addressed

Patients’ autonomy over their reproductive health is threatened more than ever. Providers need to partner with patients to give them the information they need to make the best decisions for their health and their families. Yet contraceptive decision-making is complex, and it can be hard to conduct comprehensive counseling in an already-rushed office encounter. PICCK will give you a new way to approach the counseling visit, along with a framework that ensures that patient preferences are kept at the center.

Educational Objectives

Participants at the conclusion of this webinar will be able to:

1. Discuss factors and motivations that inform patient’s contraceptive decision-making
2. Understand the risk of coercion in contraceptive counseling
3. Explore a patient-centered shared decision-making approach to contraceptive counseling
